THE ANCHORAGE SEARCH TEAM’S PRIMARY MISSION is to assist in locating and rendering aid to persons reported lost or missing within the Anchorage service district. Other areas of support include evidence searches, natural or man-made disasters, and public or special events.
NORTH PAW K9 SEARCH & RECOVERY, a non-profit volunteer organization, was founded in 2016 to help fill the need for an urban K9 search & recovery asset in the Municipality of Anchorage.
THE ANCHORAGE SEARCH TEAM IS ALSO PART OF PROJECT LIFESAVER. Project Lifesaver forms partnerships with local law enforcement and public safety organizations and deploys specially trained teams with the most reliable technology available to quickly locate and return wandering adults and children to their families and caregivers.
Over 5,000,000 people in the USA have Alzheimer’s and related disorders. That number will triple by 2050. Well over 50% of these people wander and become lost. Nearly half of them will die and many can become injured or fall victim to predators if they are not located within 24 hours.
THE ANCHORAGE SEARCH TEAM RELIES ON FUNDS RAISED THROUGH THIS SPECIAL EVENT FOR BADLY NEEDED EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES AND OTHER NEEDS FOR THE COMING YEAR. YOU CAN HELP BY PURCHASING ADVERTISING IN THE SOUVENIR PROGRAM OR PURCHASING TICKETS TO ATTEND OR BY SPONSORING TICKETS FOR DISADVANTAGED YOUTH AND FAMILIES TO ATTEND ON YOUR BEHALF.
